Saturday morning, no milk, no bread for toast and did not feel like running to the store?????? What to do????? Call Crispy Cream! OK, As Greg said, this is the epitome of laziness - and so we were lazy. But the donuts were really good and we ordered extra for tomorrow (if they last that long). The coffee and milk they brought was good too. As Alex said, we don't have a Crispy Cream in NY near us anymore, so this was a treat. Here in Dubai, they are everywhere, at most gas stations and malls. And now they deliver.
The weather here today is hot, humid and dusty. In the paper yesterday, there was an article that talked about how the weather is forcing most people to stay indoors now. Sounds like winter. The leaves are falling off our tree in the backyard and I told Ed it reminds me of fall. Funny how the weather can get all turned around. Right now, as I sit in the kitchen I can see dust flying all over the place, mostly because of the construction right behind our yard, but it is very windy so I know a lot of it is just dust in the air. A real sandstorm. I will miss watching these.
Yesterday, we didn't do much. Alex wanted to go back to school to see a series of one act plays being acted out by his friends at school. They had them on Thursday night as well. He said the Thursday night plays were better then last night, but it gave him something to do last evening. We are trying to figure out which hotel we want to stay at for our last week here and have pretty much decided on The Atlantis which is at the end of the Palm Jumeriah Island. It is a new hotel, just opened last November, and has the lowest rates in Dubai right now?????? Alex has a friend who lives on the Palm and will be getting together with him that last week. He and I are still a little sad about leaving Dubai, but resigned to it and looking forward to Hilton Head with Amy, Dave, JJ and family. We think it will be really fun and a nice way to break back into living in the states. Yesterday, we also went to the Dubai Outlet Mall, which is my favorite place and walked around. It was very busy, but I know it will probably be our last visit there before we leave. Today, we will probably hang around the house and try to get some more paperwork done for the move. Still have inventory to do and cleaning out of some areas that we won't be using etc etc.
Right now, I have to get dressed and ready for my day. I need to go to the grocery store. No more take out today - well maybe for dinner. WE are so spoiled.
